Luke Hayward

Luke works across a variety of areas, with a particular focus on Commercial, Property, and Trusts law. He leads a team of lawyers and support staff, and acts for a broad range of clients including not-for-profits, charities, private clients, and small and large commercial clients.

Luke’s love of people is evident in the care he takes and the practical and considered advice he provides. He is known for building strong relationships and for taking the time to understand each client’s circumstances.

Luke graduated from the University of Canterbury with a double degree in Law and Economics and was admitted to the bar in 2009. He began his legal career at a national law firm in Wellington before spending time overseas in London, where he taught at Harrow School. After returning to New Zealand and working at another Christchurch law firm, Luke joined Parry Field in 2015 and was made a Partner in October 2020.

Outside of work, Luke is heavily involved in Canterbury club cricket. He was Chair of the Lancaster Park Cricket Club for three years and continues to be involved in the club. Luke is also a Director of the Christchurch Metropolitan Cricket Association. He is involved in his church, enjoys playing music and spending time with his wife and three sons.
