Legal health checks for your business
Any business owner or manager always has a lot on their plate. We know it can be hard to keep up with changes in legislation, regulations and other red tape, rules and requirements.
Most of us take stock at the start of a New Year – for any business it makes sense to have a start-of-year health check and our team can help:
- During February and March, we are offering businesses a free business health check.
- You will get a personalised 20-minute session and a fresh look at the legal health of your business.
- Take advantage of the chance to understand any potential issues during a practical and productive session with one of our specialist legal advisors.
Your business may have been established for a while, but if you’ve been busy helping it thrive there may have been changes in compliance of law that you’re not aware of.
If you are a recent start-up, it’s possible some essential steps got overlooked in the rush and excitement of getting your business underway.
What to expect
Register using our form below and one of our partners or team member will in touch to arrange your check-up appointment at a time and place that suits.
We would later provide you with a comprehensive diagnostic report – either giving your business a clean bill of legal health or suggesting areas of potential risk with a recommended programme of work and steps you could take to achieve what’s needed.
While our business health check is completely free of charge or obligation, our report would outline estimated costs you might face and any fees for our ongoing support.
Frequently asked questions
Why are you doing this?
Here at Parry Field, we are passionate about helping our clients succeed. We started offering our free legal health checks in the Selwyn district but are now extending them so they’re available to all. As a values-based firm we like to give back to communities we are involved in, so our free business health checks are part of that.
Can I get a free check-up if I’m a current client?
Our business health checks are available on a complimentary basis to any business, existing or new clients and no matter how small or large.
What kind of things would you cover in the session?
We will start by asking you some questions about your business to get a real sense of what will benefit you most, and the topics we would need to cover in our session.
These may include the business ownership structure, your employment law obligations, terms of trade and important information on those. We also might look at debt collection, your health safety and wellbeing obligations, commercial contract obligations, capital raising and more.
Any good check-up will help you look forward to the future. We will tailor our session based on what is important and relevant to you and your business.
We got legal advice at the time we set our business up, why would we need to do this now?
There are always new regulatory or legal requirements being introduced and we want to help you be aware of your obligations. You may also have changed how you operate including the size of your team, taking on larger projects, or you may need to assess changes ahead of strategic improvements.
With any change, there may be ways you could improve how your run your business to reduce the risk of issues for you or your business in the future.
I work as a sole trader not a limited liability company, does that make a difference?
Not at all. If anything, it is probably more valuable for you to have a bit of an audit of where you are now, and we can help you determine next steps for your business as it becomes more successful.
I’m interested, what do I need to do?
You are welcome to give us a call or easiest just complete the form on this page and we will be in touch to set up a time for you to meet with one of our partners. We’ll take it from there.
