Grant is a consultant lawyer with Parry Field, having been a partner from 1988 to 2022. He is married to Robyn and has 3 adult sons and 2 grandchildren.
During his legal career Grant was an advisor on business sales and purchases as well as restructuring. Grant’s background in farming also drew him into agri-law and advising extensively on personal asset restructuring and planning. His clients came from the tourism, hi-tech, accountancy, medical and other service industries as well as numerous charities.
Grant is currently chair of Stepping Stone Trust, one of New Zealand’s largest mental health service providers. He is also chair of Southern Woods Nursery Limited and a past chair of Burnside High School Board of Trustees, St Christopher’s Community Trust and Wai-ora Forest Landscapes Limited. Grant has also been a trustee or director of other trusts and companies.
In his consultancy role with Parry Field he continues to assist clients and other lawyers in the firm in his areas of expertise. He is also assisting clients and others with strategic planning and governance issues in the business and not for profit sectors.
In his spare time Grant enjoys reading, debating with friends in small discussion groups, mountain biking as well as the occasional bit of lay preaching in his Anglican Church Parish. He is also a member of his local Rotary Club and is on its board of directors.
