Tim is a key member of our property and commercial team, having particular expertise in commercial and residential property development. He regularly advises clients on complex land title issues, and is currently involved in some of Canterbury’s largest subdivisions.
Tim acts for a wide range of clients in relation to business acquisitions and disposals, commercial leases, franchises, and charitable trusts, and frequently advises directors and shareholders on corporate structuring issues, including business and family succession planning.
He seeks to provide clients with common sense, pragmatic advice that is, importantly, correct.
After commencing his legal career with Parry Field Lawyers in 1996, Tim spent five years from 2002 in Dublin and London at a major Investment Bank. He returned to New Zealand and Parry Field in September 2007, becoming a partner in October 2010.
Tim and his wife Christine have three growing children, each of whom Tim delights in embarrassing with Dad jokes and cringe-worthy attempts to display ‘street cred’.
He greatly enjoys the barbequing of meat and (if pushed) vegetables. He is also passionate about good coffee – though despite brewing an estimated 15,000 coffees over the last 10 years, is yet to pour a decent ‘tulip’.
Sport, church and charitable commitments fill out what is left of Tim’s spare time.
