In early 2014 Pat merged his long standing practice, Rotherhams Law (formerly Gough & Irving) with Parry Field Lawyers and is one of our most recently appointed Partners. Pat has a particular interest in asset protection and succession planning through the use of appropriate structures such as trusts, companies and relationship property/property sharing agreements.
Pat has broad based experience in business and property acquisitions and disposals and he has represented individuals, family trusts and private companies in assisting them to fulfil their long term plans. He works closely with accountants and related professionals to ensure his Clients’ needs are understood and achievable.
For over 15 years Pat has been the co-ordinator of the Legal Referral Centre within the Christchurch West Citizens Advice Bureau. He has written articles for local organisations and community publications, and has given many presentations on various legal topics to client groups as well as to community organisations and local retirement villages.
Pat is married to Shelly who worked with him in his practice for 16 years prior to the merger with Parry Field Lawyers and he has two adult children in the banking industry. When commitments allow, Pat is a keen road cyclist and mountain biker, tennis player and less keen runner, as his dog Max will confirm. He enjoys music, reading, theatre and travel in his spare time.
