About the Role
Are you a skilled Lawyer looking to trade the city hustle for a booming regional practice, just metres from the beach?
We are seeking a Property & Commercial Lawyer to join our team in Hokitika – now based in beautiful new office premises.
Under the guidance of Partner, Joseph Morris, you will manage a diverse caseload, focus on core West Coast industries, as well as work closely with local families, businesses, and agricultural clients who value trusted, face-to-face legal counsel.

Subdivision Work: Oversee property development, including multi stage.
Small Commercial: Assist with small business sale and purchase, leasing, business structuring, and shareholder agreements.
Mining & Resources: Advise on access arrangements.

About You
We are seeking a lawyer with approximately two plus years’ post-qualification experience in property and commercial law.
You will need:
An excellent ability to build professional relationships
Solid academic and practical ability, with the maturity and wisdom to thrive in a busy practice
A clear understanding of billable hours and a willingness to work productively to meet targets
A positive outlook, strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a supportive team environment
Previous experience in a law firm setting is preferred, but we are focused on finding the right person with a positive attitude and potential.
