Luke graduated from the University of Canterbury with a double degree in law and economics and was admitted to the bar in 2009, at which stage he took up a position at a national law firm in Wellington.

After an OE spent in London teaching at Harrow School and a stint at another Christchurch law firm, Luke joined Parry Field Lawyers as an Associate in March of 2015 and was made a Partner/Director in October 2020.

Luke works in a variety of areas but predominantly in the Commercial/Property and Trusts team leading a team of lawyers and support staff. Luke therefore acts on a broad range of legal work and for a wide base of clients including not for profits, charities as well as private and small and large commercial clients.

In 2014, Luke was a finalist in the category of Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year at the annual New Zealand Law Awards.

Luke has many interests outside of work. Most notably, Luke is heavily involved in Canterbury club cricket. Luke was the chairman of the Lancaster Park Cricket Club for three years and continues to sit on the management committee of the Club. Luke is also a director of the Christchurch Metropolitan Cricket Association. He is involved in his church and enjoys playing music and spending time with his wife and three sons.
